2024 Overview
Overview
The Buccaneers were supposed to be in a bridge year following the retirement of Tom Brady in 2023. Instead they won the division largely due to a career year from Qb Baker Mayfield. Tampa will look to continue that success with much of last years team returning.
Passing
Baker Mayfield finally showed the promise that he had on display during his explosive time at the university of oklahoma. Hes coming off a career season in 2023. He gets his weapons from last year returning plus the addition of talented rookie Jalen Mcmiillan.
Rushing
Rachaad White has taken complete control of the backfield showing his ability in not just the run game but also the passing game adding in 64 receptions last season.The Offensive line is still relatively unproven outside of the tackle positions. Rookie Bucky Irving will have a role in this offense but White should be among the league leaders in touches again this year.
Receiving
Mike Evans and Chris Godwin will once again headline the receiving corps in Tampa. New comers Sterling Shepard and rookie Jalen Mcmillan will compete for the third wideout spot. Tight end Cade Otton will look to take another step forward entering his 3rd year.
Defense
The defense will look towards All pro S Antoine Winfield Jr. and Vita Vea. The defense has one of the better line backing cores in the league as well. The Defense should be in the top half of the league again this season.
Fantasy Impact
Baker Mayfield will be the determining factor in the fantasy values of this team. If Baker plays like he did last season youll have plenty of fantasy value from the skill position guys in Tampa. One thing to keep and eye is how this team looks under new OC Liam Coen. Dave Canales left to become the head coach of the Carolina Panthers.
