Combining size and speed, Mitchell is a rare specimen at WR from what we’ve seen coming into the league recently. His measurables at the combine were similar to DK Metcalf and his production at Texas is making him a likely first round pick. As a junior, and in his first full year starting he had 51 catches for 813 yards and 10 TD's in his 13 games. Averaging 15.9 YPC in 2023 he showed that he is a formidable threat down the field. Mitchell has a high ceiling in the right system that allows him to leverage his strengths as an outside X receiver.
Strengths:
1. Has size and flexibility: Able to make plays in a number of different situations.
2. Explosive runner with uncanny speed for his size.
3. Footwork is clean: Able to bait and out maneuver DBs.
4. Body Control: Ball tracking, coordination and strong hands make him a formidable target for QB’s.
Weaknesses:
1. Agility: Hasn’t shown the ability to make defenders miss after the catch and hasn’t been much of a RAC threat.
2. Can mis-judge balls thrown deep and slows his pace late in routes.
3. Small Sample Size: With just his Junior year showcasing his skills, he may need some developmental time.
