2023 Outlook
After getting out from under the nearly $55,000,000 in dead money left behind from Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, the Atlanta Falcons went to work in free agency. Focusing on the defense and adding Jesse Bates, Calais Campbell and Bud Dupree, we should see a notable change on defense.
They then went into the draft and added some weapons on offense by selecting the highly touted running back Bijan Robinson with the eighth overall pick. With the addition of Bijan and new tackle Matthew Bergeron, we can expect a heavy dose of the run from he and Tyler Allgeier.
With questions still surrounding the QB position and although Arthur Smith has come out with public support of Desmond Ridder, you can still expect a QB competition between him and newly signed Taylor Heinicke. Whoever ends up as the starting QB of the Falcons does have talented players to work with in Kyle Pitts, Drake London and Bijan as well as a decent set of supporting players at the skilled positions.
The Falcons have not finished above .500 since 2018, they will likely finish around that mark this season.
