2023 Outlook

The New Orleans Saints are home to the most experienced QB in the NFC South, and this helps make them an early favorite to win the NFC South. Derek Carr will join a Saints team with one of the easiest strengths of schedule in the NFL and a very winnable division.

Having broken 30 TD passes only once in his career, don’t look for David Carr to have a huge impact on this offense. Expect a similar output from Chris Olave as you saw last year, catching passes from Derek Carr and Andy Dalton isn’t that much different. As for Michael Thomas, the team believes him to be healthy and ready to go this season, we will have to wait and see with that. However if healthy, Thomas could pull enough focus away from Olave for an increase in production.

There remains some question marks around star RB Alvin Kamara and his legal issues, but the team addressed this need in free agency by adding Jamaal Williams and then again in the draft by drafting Kendre Miller. Otherwise, the offense looks ready to roll with WRs Chris Olave and Michael Thomas and TE Juwan Johnson. Paired with key additions to the teams defense through the draft and free agency, the Saints are poised to take the NFC South.
